My absolute favorite thing to bake and my secret to making a traditional recipe, unique!
Since I was little, besides box mixes, chocolate chip cookies were one of the first things that I learned how to bake with my momma. To this day, it is my favorite thing to make and I have slowly but surely created my own take on the classic “Nestle Tollhouse” recipe (you know, the one the back of the bag).

DISCLAIMER: Since this is my first post about “Food”, I just wanted to say that, I am by no means an expert baker or chef. But if I have any tips or tricks in the kitchen or yummy recipes, I plan to share them here!

My first advice when baking this recipe, or any cookie recipe, is to start with these baking mats from Amazon. They are under $15, help with spacing on the sheet and (my favorite thing about them) make cleaning a breeze! I never realized how many cookies I could fit on a sheet until I had this little guideline!
Now, the secret to my chocolate chip cookies are two things!
1. Use 3 Cups of flour instead of 2 1/4
2. Add 1 tsp. of cinnamon
After that you’re as good as gold! I like these changes because they come out a little bit more “cake-like” and the cinnamon makes a world of a difference in flavor! All in all, I will end this with encouraging you to experiment with the traditional, push the limits and don’t be afraid to try new things. It took me a while to come up with this recipe and decide how I liked my cookies to come out, but practice makes perfect! And no one will ever complain about more cookies!
