Two busy months calls for a combo favs recap that’s all about YOU!
Wow! August was CRAAZZYYY busy! The end of summer really caught up with us and kept our schedule pretty booked! Easing into September now and finally catching up on sharing my monthly favs!
I usually don’t have a theme around these recaps but this one is kind of leaning towards skin care. After closing the summer with outdoor adventures and a trip to the beach, my skin was in desperate need of love and care! Here are my top fav products for my skin right now as well as a few items that have been giving me all the fall feels!
Dove Exfoliating Body Polish: Kiwi Seeds and Cool Aloe
This is a BLESSING! Post sunshine, this is a perfect go to in the shower, 2-3 times a week! Both Marcus and I both used this after our beach trip and it worked wonders. Now we use it 1-2 times a week followed by this next product….simply, lightly scrub your body with the wash (no loofah needed) and let it work its magic!
St. Ives Soft and Silky Coconut and Orchid Body Wash
I picked this up when I first got the exfoliant. I knew I would need to EXTRA hydrate my skin after scrubbing it, so I got something that focuses on softening. This smells amazing and is perfect for that post washing glow!
Ogx Extra Creamy Coconut Miracle Ultra Moisture Lotion
In LOVE with this lotion. I’ve been using it for some time now but it really proved its magic when my skin was needing its summer revival! I highly recommend this for everyday use. I’m sure it will come in extra handy come winter time when the air starts getting dry!
Side note: I have really sensitive skin and usually use medicated or super boring lotions just to keep it hydrated and not react to fragrances in lotions and such, but this has caused no reaction (so far, fingers crossed), and has been so gentle on my skin!
Amber Oil Perfume
I have been using this oil perfume for sooooo long! It’s so lightweight and lovely, but it really compliments well when your skin temperature changes throughout the day, which is why it’s been a fav of mine recently in this season change! I usally have 2-3 go to perfumes that I alternate between and 1 like fancy one that I use for special occasions, but this one is ALWAYS in the rotation. I’ve found it the easiest to shop for it via Amazon (linked here or below) , or at Whole Foods. It’s under $20, travel friendly and lasts years! This scent is so neautral, sweet, yet home-y and cozy vibes…if that makes any kind of sense!
Note: Even though it is an oil, you still treat it like a roll on perfume, you just use less and it still lasts the same. 🙂
Aquis Hair Towel Wrap
I have always used a hair towel wrap, ever since I was little….and to this day I have only used the same once since (so surprised it’s lasted this long). But sometime in the summer, my mom bought me this one and I have been using it ever since! It’s quite amazing. It dries quickly, never pulls on my hair and has yet to slip off! If you’re traveling you can absolutely take it along with you because it is so lightweight (honestly amazed at how much it absorbs by being so thin)! Truly amazing and comes in plenty of colors!
Now what would this post be without a round up of my fav fall candles from this season!? Y’all know I love me some candles year round, but this time of year always has the best scents around!
Bath and Body Works
– Honey Crisp Apple (Now called “Apple Cinnamon Cider”) : This is forever a favorite of mine! I always buy multiple and then each year they change the name for some odd reason…? I’m usually not a fan of very sweet scents but this one is just enough that is still subtle and makes the home feel cheery and cozy!
– Bonfire Nights: If you’re looking for a good candle to burn while you enjoy a cozy, movie night in or relaxing bubble bath (or just to have on honestly), this one is for you! This candle has a wood wic, which means when it burns it has just the slightest crackle sound that makes you feel like you’re right in front of a fireplace! The scent is divine and adored by all! (I actually found out about this from Marcus, since before we started dating he told me that this was his favorite candle…I may have known then that we were meant to be lol).
Circle E. Candles
– Apple Strudel OR Leather: If you know me, you know that either my mom or I have already recomended these to you! These Texas classics are AMAZING! Fantastic quality and lovely scents that complete a home! With either of these scents you can’t go wrong! I will say, if you use these, they are best for filling up large areas, so place this in you living room, kitchen, etc. whatever is the most central part of the home and you’ll be sure to enjoy it everywhere!
So there it is! Now that our skin is revived and our fall mood has been set, let’s finish this year strong! I’m so excited for so many things coming up! A few life changes, the holidays and new products and brands coming soon!
